Hepi is one of most famous Maori master jade and bone carvers in New Zealand and has a strong following world wide. His work is often traditional yet has a very distinct flair and style which is instantly recognisable.
Most of Hepi's carvings are very sculptural in form with delicate overlapping spirals yet also a sense of strength and power. Hepi has had his work published in many books and displayed in galleries and museums internationally.

The Koru, represents the new unfurling fern frond as it opens bringing new life and purity to the world. It also represents peace, tranquility and spirituality, along with a strong sense of regrowth or new beginnings.
