A large, solid and gorgeous hand carved Adze - WARRIOR'S HEART
This piece is equally stunning worn either side, so no matter which way you wear it, you'll be turning heads. The back has a deeper and larger formation of orange and red colours. While the front is a glorious deep green descending into lighter orange/yellow colours.
WARRIOR'S HEART is carved from a spectacular piece of jade. It has marvellous colour variation and texture which indicates the journey the stone has made over the millennia during its creation. Ric has taken this history and, with respect, has carved it into a gorgeous toki.
Have a look at the video we have taken of this piece slowly rotating. It has a very beautiful form. The jade has been polished to a silky matte finish - this is an outstanding piece of jewellery. It is large and has real 'heft', it will be a wonderful piece to wear if you're after something visually striking and physically substantial.
WARRIOR'S HEART - a toki handcarved from New Zealand Pounamu.
THE TOKI - it's history and meaning...
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
This is a one-off piece and will make someone very happy!
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
