A dark green toki carved for us by Darren Hill. We've named this one THE FALLS because it brings back memories of the water colour as it hit the pool at the bottom of the Sutherland Falls on the Milford Track - a beautiful deep green with flashes of white. Such a lovely toki.
The jade Darren used for THE FALLS is a lovely deep blue green, rare New Zealand dark Inanga Jade. The binding is a dark brown and perfectly complements this piece.
The toki or adze was an important tool for the polynesian people, used to build meeting houses and shape their sea-going canoes. It has been traditionally worn to give strength and courage to the wearer.
Provided on an adjustable plaited cord in Black and your package will also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
