A very cool, slim toki pendant hand carved by Darren Hill. This piece is carved from a rare, dark inanga jade - difficult to find and equally difficult to work, but the results are worth it!
If you are looking for a finer toki this one is a beauty and worth a little time to look at - the video shows the shape of the piece and the colour variation in the jade front and back so please take the time to view it.
Darren has finished it in a traditional burnished matte.
The toki or adze was an important tool for the polynesian people, used to build meeting houses and shape their sea-going canoes. It has been traditionally worn to give strength and courage to the wearer.
Provided on an adjustable plaited cord in Dark Brown and your package will also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
