Light and graceful, this piece was carved from stunning New Zealand Marsden Jade by Kerry Thompson. The design and carving execution are exceptional. The general design is a traditional toki - an adze shape representing what was a very important tool for Māori.
Kerry has hollowed the centre and cut symmetrical slots producing what really is a remarkable design. This produces a fascinating play of light that presents in various ways depending on how the light strikes across the faces of the pendant.
