A lovely, medium sized New Zealand jade koru - hand carved by artist and master jade carver, Ross Crump.
We have named this piece NUCLEUS - the koru spiral in the centre draws the eye inward, towards the centre of the piece, its heart. The stone Ross used is a gently coloured flower jade that is perfect for this koru. It has been polished to a bright shine.
The koru design is an integral symbol in Maori art forms. The spiral is a Koru, which represents the fern frond as it opens bringing with it new life and purity - a fresh beginning. It is a symbol of peace, tranquillity and spirituality.
The koru is also associated with nurturing, so is frequently used to represent the strength and purity of a loving relationship within a family.
We provide NUCLEUS on an adjustable, Olive/Ice White coloured cord and will also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Koru design.
