Black Basalt Stone Koru.
A gorgeous, matte black koru - this little beauty is hand carved from a deep black stone.
The koru is an iconic form in New Zealand, the unfolding frond immediately recognisable in this part of the world.
Koru is the Māori word for 'loop'. The spiral shaped koru design represents an unfolding silver fern frond. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’. The unfurling frond is symbolic for new life, rebirth, the spirit of rejuvenation, and peace.
This is wonderful little pendant, beautifully carved and bound with a hand-plaited black necklace. Check the video to get a perspective of the movement in this lovely little pendant.
We provide this pendant on a hand plaited black adjustable cord and will also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the koru design.
