BRONCO - a little wild and hard to tame
We had this piece carved from New Zealand Kokopu Jade, a gorgeous piece of stone that we recently sourced. We bought a boulder that had been owned by a family for over 50 years and we are carving pieces to share this beautiful stone with many!
This jade has a wonderful mix of colours - deep green through a soft faint blue, the colours transition beautifully and in this large carving are beautifully displayed.
BRONCO is a larger version of our popular WARRIOR toki - a visually powerful piece, softened a little with the koru carved into the lower third of the blade.
We have added a hand plaited Paradise Blue/Khaki adjustable cord with a traditional style lashing in Paradise Blue. While the stone is central to this piece, the cord and binding colours are designed to accentuate the colour nuances in the stone. This is a beautiful piece of New Zealand Kokopu Jade.
Kokopu Jade is named after a native fish that is becoming increasingly rare in New Zealand inland streams. The soft speckled appearance of the jade is a little like the colour of this little fish, and is quite rare.
BRONCO is finished in a matte sheen which helps the jade glow.
The Koru heart is all about new beginnings - the courage to successfully deal with anything the future has in store for you.
The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful ....and this is a good one!
Traditionally, the toki is worn to provide strength and courage to assist through life's challenges, and the koru is a symbol of rebirth, growth and new beginnings.
We include our 'Kia Ora' cards explaining the meaning behind both the Toki and Koru designs.
Shipping is included in the price.
