BEATING HEART - we see a heart form in the centre of this carving - can you see it too?
A traditional Hei-Matau made to be worn over your BEATING HEART.
This matau pendant was carved for us by Ric Moor. This piece is carved in a traditional design - a shape that we have seen in very old matau carvings.
The jade is a wonderful lush mint green pounamu. This is a rare jade loved and valued for its distinctive colour. The cord is a four-plait, adjustable creme coloured necklace.
BEATING HEART is a large sized Hei-Matau, or hook carving. Ric is a craftsman and this piece is a great example of his carving talent. He has finished BEATING HEART with a soft polish that glows and is gorgeous to handle. Definitely a pendant to wear all the time.
