WITHIN THE SHALLOWS - hand carved for us by Ross Crump. Ross has used a beautiful light green New Zealand Inanga Jade which he has highlighted with a soft POLISHED finish. The jade through the bottom is a deeper moss coloured green - reminiscent of what you might find WITHIN THE SHALLOWS - the perfect place to dabble!
We've paired this lovely manaia with a Wapiti Brown coloured adjustable cord and Lilac Popper and Slip Knots.
There is plenty of detail in WITHIN THE SHALLOWS - the body of the manaia is decorated with a hook in the shape of a very finely carved fish tail. All in all this is a very precise, delicate carving that looks fantastic worn high on the neck.
The head of a bird, a deep, solid heart and a fishtail - WITHIN THE SHALLOWS is a small pendant with a big impact.
The Manaia: a mythical being believed to be the invisible light, or aura, surrounding a person. They represent spiritual power and are believed to be the guide that leads the spirits to heaven. They are worn to guide and protect.
The Hook: The wearer of a Hei-Matau is seen as a provider and protector who is strong willed and determined to succeed in life - what a lovely sentiment to gift to someone important to you.
This pendant will be delivered to you with DHL Express Courier on a hand plaited adjustable cord. We will also include our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Manaia and Hook design.
