ATAATA - Smile
Hand carved from natural bone, this Tiki is sure to make you smile - ATAATA.
The bone Yuri has used has a lovely milky colour which will deepen and change over time, and with wear. The inlaid eyes are made from our beautiful and richly coloured cold water Pāua shell.
ATAATA - an enchanting and original piece of art.
Hei-Tiki, its roots and meaning: The tiki is a well recognised symbol in Maori culture, but also has historical roots in Hawaiian and wider Polynesian cultures. It is believed to symbolise fertility, and was often worn by women as a fertilising symbol. Its form is believed to represent a human embryo, often carved with the hands placed on the loins in what is believed to be a direct reference to fertility.
Delivered to you with DHL Express Courier at no extra cost.
Will also include our 'Kia Ora' card, which will explain the meaning behind the Tiki design.
