ROYAL COACHMAN

This matau, with its central heart form, is carved from a very striking piece of flower jade. This is a fantastic, smaller sized matau - great if you're looking for a smaller sized, traditional piece and we have this on an adjustable cord so you can position it where it suits you best!

This is a piece to be worn - the carving and the jade are both just a little different.

ROYAL COACHMAN was carved for us by Donna Summers.

The very best way to appreciate this work is to watch the brief video we have taken of it slowly revolving. It really is a stunner!

It also has a lovely symbolism combining two shapes that are important in our local culture: the matau (hook) and the koru.

The koru symbolises new life, the central spiral shape represents an unfolding silver fern frond - the beginning of its life. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’. This is a fabulous pendant if you're embarking on new challenges. A partner to keep you company.

The hook:  The wearer of a Hei-Matau is seen as a provider and protector who is strong willed and determined to succeed in life - what a lovely sentiment to gift to someone important to you.

We provide this with a four plait beige coloured adjustable cord. Also included, our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind both the Hook and Koru design.

Delivery to you with Express Courier is included in the price.
