Gorgeous, fine disc pendant with a floret shaped koru, hand carved from beautiful rare New Zealand Flower Jade. A beautiful Koru that, when lit from behind, lets the light shine through.
The Koru: the Māori word for 'loop'. The spiral shaped koru design represents an unfolding silver fern frond. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’. The unfurling frond itself is symbolic of new life, new beginnings, hope and rebirth.
This is carved from the most wonderful, AND INCREASINGLY RARE, flower jade - a lovely bright green with the hint of pale red on one side. . Take a look at the video - you will see that this piece has real form, carved with depth in the body, so although it is a medium to larger sized piece, it has heft and is quite unique.
This pendant looks fantastic whichever side you choose to display.
We have ONE only of these stunning koru.
Take a little time to view the photos and the video to appreciate the simple shape and stunning flower jade.
