KOKOPU WHEKU
A carved face we've designed to capture the spirit of the South Pacific. This piece embodies the presence and the power of beautiful Polynesia.
The design is a Wheku - a 'carved face'. These designs are found throughout the Pacific and tend to denote the face of an ancestor - a guardian. Often they are displayed in prominent places - on borders, at gateways, on the gables of meeting houses - places that allow them to watch over their people.
This is a striking and unique pendant. Crafted with just the right amount of detail to represent their symbolism. Wheku are often are fine works of traditional art - and in this small form, look fantastic worn. The finish on this piece is a satin matte polish.
