LEADER OF LOVE - hand carved by Ross Crump.
LEADER OF LOVE has been carved from an apple green coloured piece of Marsden Jade. It is a complex manaia design, carved with decorative koru through the body. We love the pale, almost cloud like, scattered through the stone - a combination of features that make this piece unique!
We have named this piece LEADER OF LOVE to reflect and acknowledge the remarkable strength of the human spirit. When you are a LEADER OF LOVE no challenge is too big and no matter of the heart is too small to salute.
The bottom of the manaia is decorated with a pair of koru - softening the detail of the carved head.
LEADER OF LOVE looks fantastic from both sides - take a moment to watch the short video to appreciate the fulsome form and colour of this piece.
The Manaia: a mythical being believed to be the invisible light, or aura, surrounding a person. They represent spiritual power and are believed to be the guide that leads the spirits to heaven. They are worn to guide and protect.
The Koru: The unfurling frond shape is symbolic of new life, new beginnings and the hope that is associated with a step into something new and unknown. It is a reflection of the spirit of rejuvenation and the personal growth that comes with undertaking new challenges.
We will provide this pendant with a hand-plaited cord which is length adjustable.
