These beautiful pendants are made from gorgeous New Zealand pāua shell and ancient Woolly Mammoth Tusk (over 10,000 years old) set in a sterling silver surround.
The beauty of pāua is its responsiveness to differing light - change the angle a little and different colours reflect from the shell. Watch the brief video to appreciate the colour variation of the pāua shell - it is quite remarkable.

New Zealand pāua is the South Pacific variation of the abalone. It grows slowly in the cold waters around New Zealand which produces the robust and very vibrant coloured shell. Pāua has long been used locally to decorate jade and bone carvings, but it also makes very beautiful jewellery when combined with sterling silver.
We provide these pendants with a 52cm (20.5 inch) sterling silver chain
