This is an outstanding piece of Tangiwai Pounamu and it is beautifully showcased in this piece - slender, long, elegant and just a lovely piece to wear! It is a lovely mottled green colour, if you backlight it you can see the striated inclusions that run lengthwise through the stone. This is Tangiwai at its best - rare and beautiful.

Tangiwai is the most ancient form of pounamu and takes its name from the Māori 'tangi' - to cry and 'wai' - water, 'tears of sorrow'. It is the perfect stone for this marvellous pendant.
