This is classic work by this artist. He has used a high degree of precision to carve the amber and bone koru in the front face and edges - but left some of the naturally occurring features of the amber on the sides and back - a delicious mix of textures!
Imagine wearing this koru against your skin, a warm amber drop caressing your chest.
Take a moment to watch the video we have made of this fabulous pendant slowly revolving - what seems to be a rough finish in the photos is, in fact, internal fractures, air and other material trapped in the amber - this is a fascinating piece of jewellery.
The Koru, represents a young, unfurling fern frond opening and bringing new life and purity to the world. It also represents peace, tranquility and spirituality, along with a strong sense of growth or new beginnings.
