This is a significant carving - a visually stunning pendant carved from a beautiful piece of New Zealand Auhunga Jade.

Auhunga is a jade that sits between the pale milky green Inanga and the brighter darker green Kawakawa - it is the stone that provides a bridge between the two.

We have named this piece WAYFARER for all those out there who love to travel, all you wanderers and nomads - especially now when it's not so easy to hit the road! This is a piece to keep your spirit on the move...

This is a wonderful exemplar of the hook. Beautifully carved with fine detail, and with a decorative touch, it incorporates a small twist at the top. Worn on one side it looks like a twist, on the other it appears more like a traditional matau or hook - wear it either way and it looks fantastic. We love this pendant!

The Hei-Matau is a powerful symbol representing prosperity, abundance and fertility. It is also believed to provide good luck and safety when travelling over water.

We have bound this with our adjustable cord. Also included, one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the hook design.
