GOLDEN HONEY GLOW - two beautiful materials brought together in this bangle - ancient mammoth tusk and brass!
At 42gms, this is a nice solid armband, but light enough to wear daily. The bracelet slips straight on and off the arm with no clasp. We have set hand carved mammoth pieces into a solid brass armband. The materials contrast and complement one another beautifully.
The finish is a good polish that allows the light to play on the surfaces and highlights the wonderful grain of the tusk. The final effect is a beautiful golden honey glow.
We had our mammoth material carbon dated to get an accurate measure of its age. The testing was done for us by GNS Science, a New Zealand Crown Research Institute and New Zealand's leading provider of Earth, geoscience and isotope research - so their assessment of this material is as accurate as is possible using radiocarbon dating technology.
