If you would like to own a superb carving from a very talented artist and carver, and you appreciate the koru design - take a close look at this piece, it may well be the one for you!
Its colour is a shimmering pale grey with a few small darker inclusions scattered through the stone, particularly in the bottom curve of the carving. The finish is a great example of a mix of a great eye and top craftsmanship - Rueben has varied his polish so that wonderful contrasts emerge. This transforms AKE giving it depth and contrast - very evident here.
Koru: the Māori word for 'loop'. The spiral shaped koru design represents an unfolding silver fern frond. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’. The unfurling frond itself is symbolic of new life, new beginnings, hope and rebirth.
This piece is provided on a plaited Tan, fixed length cord. If you would like an adjustable cord, or a different coloured cord with the loop and toggle - please let us know in the comments section at checkout.
We include our 'Kia Ora' card explaining the meaning behind the KORU design.
Shipping to you with Express Courier is included in the price.
