AQUAMARINE

AQUAMARINE - gorgeous Inanga Jade Toki, hand carved by Jen Hung.
AQUAMARINE is carved from a beautiful, and rare, piece of New Zealand Inanga Pounamu. This is a relatively rare type of jade and an exceptional piece like this is quite a find. The stone is a gorgeous semi-translucent milky green with touches of pale blue and aqua shades.
If you hold AQUAMARINE up to the light, or better still, backlight it, you will reveal the lovely internal hues.
Take a moment to view the photos and video to appreciate this carving in all its colourful beauty!
Jen has hand plaited a cord for this piece - beautifully coloured to pick up the tones in the jade. It is length adjustable so you can position the toki where it suits you best.
This is an original, one-off piece and will be removed from the site when sold.
WHY YOU WOULD WEAR A TOKI....
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
