A traditional Hei-Matau made to be worn and enjoyed - while a sizeable piece, GOOD LIFE is finely carved and beautifully light to wear, so this is a piece to put on and leave on.
This matau was carved for us by Ric Moor. A beautiful and contemporary piece of carved art.
The jade is a wonderful lush green pounamu - fine and translucent. This is a rare jade loved and valued for its distinctive colour. The cord is a four-plait, adjustable beige coloured necklace.
GOOD LIFE is a medium sized carving, so can be worn by anyone. Ric is a fine craftsman and this piece is a great example of his carving talent. He has finished GOOD LIFE with a soft polish that glows and is gorgeous to handle.
