“Awaken to a new day” - Rueben Tipene
MARANGA is a very large piece - weighty and eye-grabbing! The central koru is beautifully crafted, a very fine tendril of hope protected in a solid and strong housing. The finish is a polished matte.
If you would like to own a superb carving from a very talented artist and carver, and you appreciate the koru design - take a close look at this piece, it may well be the one for you!
Koru: the Māori word for 'loop'. The spiral shaped koru design represents an unfolding silver fern frond. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’. The unfurling frond itself is symbolic of new life, new beginnings, hope and rebirth.
This piece is provided on a hand plaited Nacho orange and Cosmos Grey, adjustable cord.
We include our 'Kia Ora' card explaining the meaning behind the KORU design.
Shipping to you with Express Courier is included in the price.
