This ocean themed design will have you jumping in for an OCEAN DIP.

OCEAN DIP is a wonderful, medium sized, flowing manaia hand carved from New Zealand Jade.

The body of this stone is a semi translucent, crisp green - it's a must to hold this beauty up to the light! Lit from behind, it glows and you can see the beautiful consistency of the stone. The finish is polished - it has a silky feel in the hand and looks absolutely wonderful.

Ross is a master at creating these complex and varied designs. Here he has the traditional manaia head paired with a whale tail.

This produces an interesting symbology:

The Manaia: a mythical being believed to be the invisible light, or aura, surrounding a person. They represent spiritual power and are believed to be the guide that leads the spirits to heaven. They are worn to guide and protect.

The WHALE TAIL has quite some significance in Polynesian cultures. Here in new Zealand they are believed to be descendants of Tangaroa - the God of the Oceans. They are regarded as sacred and supernatural beings and are believed to provide guidance and protection.

We provide OCEAN DIP on a hand plaited, adjustable Fern and Kalahari coloured cord with Fern Green Popper.

We will also include our 'Kia Ora' card, explaining the meaning behind the Manaia design.
