SACRED GROUND is a large Toki, stunning and visually powerful. The perfect piece to signify respect and honour. This has a matte finish, which promotes the jade's particular character. Check out the colour variations and the striking pale inclusions - it looks a little like the flash of a fish in an alpine river!
We have bound SACRED GROUND with a lashing in colours that complement the jade - Grey and Khaki. We hand plaited the neck cord in Paradise Blue, Khaki and Grey. It is length adjustable.
A LITTLE ABOUT THE TOKI:
As an adornment, the Toki, or Adze, is said to bring courage and strength in times of adversity. It is a symbol of courage and strength in times of adversity and is often worn by Maori elders as a symbol of power, wisdom and authority.
Maori believe that carvings carry the spirit of those who wear them, becoming an important family Taonga (treasure) passed on to future generations of the family as an heirloom.
