This Toki displays a beautiful array of earthy greens and explosive orange hues. It is a medium size but quite weighty because Ric has been very generous with the jade - it is carved from a substantial piece of stone. EARTH'S PAINTBRUSH is a very strong adze pendant.
The colouring varies considerably from front to back so you have a pendant that looks fabulous whichever side you choose to wear it. Slip it over your head and you'll be donning a beautiful piece of native New Zealand.
EARTH'S PAINTBRUSH is carved from a lovely piece of local New Zealand Marsden Jade. The quality of the workmanship and design is outstanding - this is a piece you will want to wear all the time. We have suspended this from a 4-plait black cord which can be adjusted with a couple of slip knots.
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
Delivery with Express Courier is included in the price.
