FAMILY TREE are medium sized Toki carved by Kerry Thompson. Two exceptional toki pendants carved with care and a great deal of thought. The craftsmanship is really evident and Kerry's use of the stone here is sublime.
FAMILY TREE are a pair of toki similar in design but quite distinct when you look at their size, the koru designs carved into the front, and the stone colour and structure.
We think these would make a fantastic gift for a couple - a marvellous wedding or anniversary gift.
The Jade Kerry has used is exquisite! Classic New Zealand flower jade - with a mix of orange and green tones which combined make each piece quite unique. It is this colour variation that adds to the mystery and beauty of these pieces!
We have made a video which slows each piece slowly revolving one after the other - the larger piece is shown first.
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful ....and this is a good one!
Each Toki has Koru designs engraved into their front face - these symbolise fresh beginnings, a new start. The perfect pendants for adventurers who would like to carry a piece of Aotearoa, New Zealand with them on their journey.
