HANNYA RING - A traditional HANNYA Play Mask carved into this fabulous ring.

A spectacular piece of wearable art for all lovers of traditional Japanese art and carving!

This is an outstanding piece - what a great way to dress up your hand! Hand carved from the tine of a Red Deer Antler, HANNYA is a large and visually striking piece of art - step out with this on your finger and we are certain you will feel wonderful... and we are certain that it will attract attention and comment!

The design is a very traditional mask design used in Japanese Noh theatre. This particular design is thought to represent a figure that is tormented and demonic, but also sorrowful. The art of this play is the subtle movement of the mask which changes its look - front on it appears angry and is frightening, if it is tilted down the face appears sad and tormented. These are a fantastic, traditional carved design with a lot of history and meaning.

This has been beautifully carved by Fumio Noguchi - a memorable little work of art!
