KOHU MAUNGA - Mountain Mist, a beautiful, Kea pendant, carved in bone.
Carved from bone, this bold pendant offers a contemporary take on the kea, favouring stylised form over literal detail. The eye of the kea is made from New Zealand Pounamu, Jade.
Three koru unfurl across both the front and back, grounding the piece in traditional Māori design language. The wings are shaped like flames - an inventive choice that references the warm orange-red plumage beneath the kea’s wings, while also symbolising the regeneration of the spirit.
The result is a striking, masterfully carved piece that feels both ancient and modern, energetic and deliberate.
We have paired this lovely carving with a Nacho Orange and Grass Green adjustable cord, colours that reflect the beautiful plumage, visible when the Kea takes flight!
Included in your package is a full description of the carving from the artist.
