A fish hook necklace (hei-matau) hand-carved in a traditional style from Bone. Take a moment to view the video, these pieces have a lovely shape which is revealed as they rotate.

In New Zealand Maori tradition the fish hook represents prosperity, abundance, strength and determination and is also worn to show a respect for the ocean. Wear this amulet for safety when travelling, particularly over water.

The Hook:  The wearer of a Hei-Matau is seen as a provider and protector who is strong willed and determined to succeed in life - what a lovely sentiment to gift to someone important to you.

We have bound these with our adjustable cords - please use the drop-down menu to select the piece you'd like. Also included, one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the hook design.
