POISE is a medium sized Toki pendant, with an intricate and eye-catching design!
This is a complex and beautifully designed and has been exceptionally well carved piece.
Tonijae has used a natural white bone, polished to a beautiful bright finish. The carved crossunder is stained in a pale brown and polished to a matte finish - a beautiful contrast that really highlights her wonderful carving skill.
POISE is provided with an adjustable length cord and lovingly packaged in a woven kete pouch.

The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
Complimentary Express Shipping is included in the price.
