A wonderful twist with central koru. Ross has used a piece of beautiful deep green Marsden Jade for this pendant and, in his inimitable style, has used the colours in the stone to perfection. The beauty of this piece is the stone - a spectacular piece of our prized Marsden Flower Jade.
We love the scatterings of orange inclusions that Flower Jade is known for, and RIVER CROSSING is a wonderful example of how attractive this stone can be in the hands of a master carver! A superb piece of traditional art and a gorgeous pendant.
RIVER CROSSING - a gorgeous, delicately carved jade pendant with a koru heart - perfect for friendship and love.
Look at the photos and watch the short video that we have made showing this pendant slowly revolving. It will give you the best views of the carving and the varied colours in the jade. This is a wonderful pendant and quite unique!
The twist carving with its crisscross form represents the many paths of life and love and as such is regarded as the original eternity symbol. The single twist carving represents the joining together of two people for eternity. Its shape describes the way relationships shift, sometimes moving apart, but coming together as a couple share their lives.
The Koru: the Māori word for 'loop'. The spiral shaped koru design represents an unfolding silver fern frond. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’. The unfurling frond itself is symbolic of new life, new beginnings, hope and rebirth.
Shipping with DHL Express Courier is included in the price.
We will also include our 'Kia Ora' cards, explaining the meaning behind both the twist and koru designs.
