Hand crafted by Kerry Thompson - this is a wonderful stylised owl pendant. Carved in Marsden jade, with the creativity and attention to detail that we find in all of Kerry's carving, RURU is a beauty! The jade is top grade, and Kerry has used the natural variation in the stone to perfection. We have backlit the pendant in one of our photos to reveal its translucence, and also the darker inclusions that add to the mystery of this piece.
Kerry has a wonderful ability to use variation in polish to accent his carvings. The front is predominantly a matte finish with the ridge surrounding the eyes polished to a high shine. This gives the carving character. The back is buffed to a flat matte and sits beautifully when worn.
