TŪMANAKO - Hope

A beautiful carved boars tusk pendant - original 'art to wear' from Andrew Doughty.

Andrew has named it TŪMANAKO which means Hope.

We will include a lengthy description of this piece - detail on the meaning behind the detail in the carving by the artist.

TŪMANAKO is made from a wild boars tusk with a buffalo horn cap and Pāua Shell inlay.

A perfect piece if you like original and beautifully crafted artwork.

This is an exquisite piece so take a moment to watch the short video, it will give you a good perspective of the high standard of craftsmanship.

The artists words below...

TŪMANAKO contains a Koruru figure at the tip of the boars tusk. This is capped with Buffalo Horn. The horn symbolises great strength and leadership skill.

The large mouth and tongue represent the passing down of knowledge and wisdom from the elders who have come before us. The oral stories as well as the written word. The stories of the past that help shape the future.

The Koruru is holding a small inlay of Pāua. This represents the gift of life and love.

Included in your package is a note of the carving from the artist.

Delivery to you with Express Courier is included in the price.
