TUATARA - a survivor through the ages...
New Zealand Marsden jade matau, superbly carved and made to be worn and treasured! We've named this piece after an ancient reptile that is endemic to New Zealand.
TUATARA is Māori for 'peaks on the back' - the little ridges on the tip of the hook remind us of these.
TUATARA - a beautiful large piece of jade art carved for us by Ric Moor. The best way to appreciate this work is to watch the brief video we have taken of it slowly revolving. Well worth your time to see the little touches Ric has added to a traditional design, making it unique and original.
Ric has finished TUATARA in a satin matte polish. It will improve its look and feel over time and that is saying something because as it is now, this is a gorgeous pendant - if you like it, you should snap it up.
The Matau: The wearer of a Hei-Matau is seen as a provider and protector who is strong willed and determined to succeed in life - what a lovely sentiment to gift to someone important to you.
We provide this with a four plait creme coloured adjustable cord. Also included, our 'Kia Ora' card, which explains the meaning behind the Hook design.
Delivery to you with DHL Express Courier is included in the price.
