We love the fanciful flair of this striking large Matau. Kerry has hand crafted this piece from Wyoming Black Jade and has finished CURIOSITY in a soft polish.

The matau, or hook pendant is revered throughout the South Pacific as a symbol for life, well-being and prosperity. Its significance arises from the key role that fishing has played in sustaining island families and communities. The owner of a good hook was respected and held a place of authority in the community.
CURIOSITY is provided with a fixed length cord and Black Jade toggle. If you would like an adjustable cord, or a different coloured cord with the loop and toggle - please let us know in the comments section at checkout.
