FREEDOM SEEKER - head out on new adventures with this little guy as your buddy!
Hand carved by Ross Crump from deep green Marsden Jade.
This manaia is carved in Ross Crump style - a distinctive head with a drop shaped body and culminating in a fish tail. It is a smaller piece, so is comfortable to wear all day, every day!
To appreciate the design, take a moment to watch the short video. This shows the piece slowly rotating and will give you a clear view of the shape and the colour of the jade.
The Manaia: a mythical being believed to be the invisible light, or aura, surrounding a person. They represent spiritual power and are believed to be the guide that leads the spirits to heaven. They are worn to guide and protect.
The matau, or hook pendant is revered throughout the South Pacific as a symbol for life, well-being and prosperity. Its significance arises from the key role that fishing has played in sustaining island families and communities. The owner of a good hook was respected and held a place of authority in the community.
We will provide this pendant with a Ice White plaited cord which is length adjustable.
We will also include our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Manaia and Hook design.
Delivery with DHL Express Courier is included in the price.
