MÖBIUS RIBBON
In stock
We're thrilled to have a selection of work carved by Ric Moor. Ric has been carving jade for many years and his pieces are most often found in galleries and museums in New Zealand. His work encompasses traditional design through contemporary and sculptural pieces - so you will find pieces to wear, collect and display among his work.
This pendant is a beautiful piece - a MÖBIUS RIBBON design carved in new Zealand jade. Ric has carved a representation of the möbius strip discovered by German mathematicians August Möbius and Johann Listing in 1858. The principle of this ribbon is that it has only one side and one boundary, it is non-orientable.
These ribbons represent the many paths followed in life and love and are regarded as an eternity symbol.
This piece is finely carved by hand and is a beautiful, delicate, but strong, pendant. Take a moment to view the video - this shows the fine carving and the subtle turns that are central to this very clever design.
We provide this pendant on a hand plaited, length adjustable cord.
Definitely check out the video to see the shape of this piece, it is very cool!
