TAHA WAIRUA - Spiritual well-being
Check out the colours in the stone! The toki is the perfect design for this stone - it is bold and earthy and has a solid practical feel to it.
The colouring in this piece is remarkable - lots of green tones and a splash of red. It varies considerably from front to back, so TAHA WAIRUA can be worn either side. Ric has made a chunky, solid and a really bold piece here - if you like lots of jade this will be the piece for you.
We have suspended this from a 4-plait brown cord which can be adjusted with a couple of slip knots. TAHA WAIRUA is a beautiful piece of traditional jewellery, that will last for ever!
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
Delivery with DHL Express Courier is included in the price.
