A beautiful, large drop toki carved in New Zealand Pakohe, Argillite Stone. Artist: Rueben Tipene.
TAUTOKO is a lovely, creative piece designed and carved by Rueben Tipene to promote comradeship - 'support is always appreciated, both in good times and in bad'.
The central design is a group of beautiful koru running off a central shaft - these re etched into the stone and promoted with a gold enamel. A striking and beautiful carved piece!
Pakohe is a dark black/grey stone with wonderful structure which is visible in the back of this toki.
TAUTOKO is another example of fine design and craftsmanship. Rueben is producing some wonderful creative art combining his carving skill with a fresh approach to traditional design.
TAUTOKO has a polished matte finish. It feels wonderful in the hand!
