PUREREHUA
In stock
PUREREHUA - inspired by a traditional Bullroarer - a Māori musical instrument.
The name comes from the Māori word for moth, and it would traditionally have been carved from wood or bone. Swung around the head on a long cord, it made a whirring sound and was believed to promote healing and attract rain.
Carved from New Zealand Jade (Pounamu)
PUREREHUA is a medium-sized piece by Kerry Thompson. It is an exceptional work of art in every sense - beautifully designed and flawlessly crafted and finished.
Carved with Kerry's exceptional attention to detail, this is a faultless carving.
The Jade Kerry has used is exquisite! It is a deep green colour, which comes alive in the light. The stone is quite translucent and when backlit, reveals fragments of scattered black inclusions, which add to the mystery and beauty of this piece!
We have made a video which slows this piece slowly revolving. We shone a light under the pendant that really shows the jade's translucency and inner life beautifully - take a moment to watch this, it is quite revealing.
This beautiful PUREREHUA has four Koru carved into its front face - these are a symbol of fresh beginnings, a new start - the perfect pendant for someone moving forward in their life!
We provide this stunning piece on a hand plaited Sea Moss Blue and Grass Green, adjustable cord
We include our 'Kia Ora' card explaining the meaning behind the Koru design.
Delivery to you with Express Courier is included in the price.
