MOSS
A large and beautifully bound Toki, hand carved by Ric Moor.
MOSS is carved from a stunning piece of New Zealand Marsden Jade. It is a beautiful deep green colour with a few characteristic pale inclusions throughout the body, and a little flash of flower on one shoulder - this is a gorgeous pendant.
The neck cord is a 4-plait Olive colour which can be adjusted with a couple of slip knots.
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
Delivery with Express Courier is included in the price.
