AURORA - Hand Crafted Tahitian Black Mother of Pearl with Australian Opal and Sterling Silver Pendant. This piece is an absolute stunner!

AURORA is a striking piece by Swiss jeweller Michel Girardin. It features a large, round disc of Tahitian black Mother of Pearl - deep, dark, and subtly iridescent, with a mysterious shimmer that changes as it catches the light. Beneath this, a small Australian Opal is attached in a fine silver housing, its bright, sparkling colours standing out beautifully. The contrast is bold and deliberate.

At the top, a delicate koru form - a graceful, spiralling shape inspired by new growth - serves as the fitting for the chain. It rises from the pearl's edge, adding a gentle curve that balances the roundness below and gives the piece a distinct, organic silhouette - and a connection to our land.

Michel comes from a Swiss family of jewellers with a long and creative tradition. He learned his craft at the La Chaux-de-Fonds Art School in Switzerland and that heritage and craft is clear in every detail: the precise stone-setting, the clean finishing, and the thoughtful way the materials are paired. The dark, exotic pearl and the bright opal are carefully composed, each enhancing the other.

The result is a marvellous combination of exotic materials, crafted into a unique, beguiling pendant that feels both modern and timeless. A gorgeous piece, made by a wonderfully skilled craftsman.
