Hand carved Tiki pendant made from Australian Prehnite - a glorious, and very interesting crystal. We have carved this piece from a beautiful lemony yellow piece of Prehnite from the Central Northern Territory of Australia.

FUSION - materials, design, craftsmanship

A striking pendant displaying the variations and transparency in colour that this stone is prized for. A mix of cloudy hues and, in the piece with the black cord, darker brown inclusions which can best be seen in the video. This is a material that fascinates in its variability, and which tells a story of the land where it formed.

FUSION is a lovely, simple tiki. Small and carved with rounded edges and gentle curves. This is a wonderful piece if you would like something traditional, small and just a little unexpected. A little piece of Art to Wear....

The Tiki is a very ancient symbol and is by far the least understood. There are a number of legends in relation to its meaning. Some legends say the tiki came from the stars and that he was the first man of the world. Often tiki are depicted with webbed feet which suggests a link to the creatures of the sea.

Other legends say tiki was respected as the teacher of all things and the wearer of this symbol is therefore seen to possess clarity of thought, loyalty, great inner knowledge and strength of character.

Perhaps most commonly, tiki is seen as a symbol of fertility, and was believe to have been worn by women seeking to have children. It was seen as a way to improve fertility.
