The seahorse, or Hippocampus, has a long held place in mythology and can be seen on coins and other ancient artefacts as early as the 6th century BC.

Presenting a serene, grey-toned façade when viewed directly, the true nature of the stone reveals itself with the slightest movement. A tilt towards the light unlocks a spectacular transformation... a brilliant flash of chatoyant azure blue shimmers across its surface. This captivating play of colour, known as labradorescence, evolves with every angle, shifting through hues of deep cobalt and tropical aqua reminiscent of the South Pacific.

Labradorite is a mesmerizing feldspar mineral - this particular stone will captivate you with its enchanting azure shimmer. This optical phenomenon occurs when light enters the stone, interacts with its internal layers, and reflects a vivid, iridescent glow reminiscent of a clear, sunlit sky.

Labradorite with an azure hue is particularly prized for its calming, celestial appearance, evoking images of ocean waves or twilight skies.

SEADRAGON is beautifully carved with lots of detail in a wonderful, almost translucent labradorite. Each piece is unique - the labradorite varies and the there will be minor differences in the carved design - yours will be the only one like it!

We will provide this with a hand-plaited black cord. These are length adjustable so you can position the pendant where it suits you best.
