Doing What We Can, Where We Can
We're not going to pretend we've got it all figured out. Like any business that ships products around the world, we have an environmental footprint - and we'd rather be upfront about that than dress it up in green buzzwords.
Here's what we do, and why.
Natural materials, by default
Every piece we make starts with natural materials - Jade, Woolly Mammoth, Antler, and other captivating mediums from the earth. No synthetics, no plastics, no materials that will outlast us by a few thousand years for all the wrong reasons. It's a choice that's been at the heart of our craft from day one, and it's not going anywhere.
Shipping: honest about the trade-off
To get our pieces to customers all over the world efficiently, we rely on international air freight. There's no way around it - if you're in the UK and we're in New Zealand, your pendant is getting on a plane. What we can do is choose our partners carefully. That's why we work with DHL - they're super efficient and they have a strong company focus on reducing their emissions. We'd rather work with a carrier that's actively trying than one that isn't.
Packaging: recyclable, with a woolly twist
Our packaging is fully recyclable - no guilt at the recycling bin. And wherever we can, we use New Zealand wool in place of bubble wrap. It cushions your piece beautifully, it's natural, it's biodegradable, and it's a lovely little nod to home. It's a small thing, but small things add up.
The honest summary
We're a small family business, and we don't have all the answers. But we do what we can, where we can - natural materials, thoughtful packaging, and shipping partners who share our concerns. We'll keep looking for ways to do better, and we'll always be honest with you about where we're at.
