BLUE SHARK - an inhabitant of the deep, with a preference for the world's temperate and tropical oceans. We decided to carve these in woolly mammoth tusk - a fitting material for another magnificent creature!
These are a gorgeous blue/cream colour with exceptional grain definition. The tusk has been stabilised with a coloured resin to protect the tusk and to accentuate the naturally occurring blue colour in the tusk. The addition of the resin will make these a lot more robust - so make this your daily companion!

The Mammoth Tusk used for this piece is CERTIFIED 34,690 YEARS OLD (+/- 815 years).
We had our mammoth material carbon dated to get an accurate measure of its age. The testing was done for us by GNS Science, a New Zealand Crown Research Institute and New Zealand's leading provider of Earth, geoscience and isotope research - so their assessment of this material is as accurate as is possible using radiocarbon dating technology.
