EMERALD CITY - a beautiful toki pendant carved from New Zealand Inanga jade.  by the wonderful artist that is Jen hung!

Everything about this Toki is beautiful! The stone is a pale, milky green with a hint of blue and Jen has plaited the perfect cord to complement this. The toki is quite a plain design - a jade representation of an adze - but its significance in Māori culture is strong. It is worn to represent the importance of the adze and the uses it was traditionally put to.

This is the pendant for you if you'd love a delightfully expressive, standout piece of handmade jewellery.

EMERALD CITY is provided with one of Jen's fantastic, colourful cords! A beautiful multi-coloured cord that is adjustable in length.

Take a moment to view the photos and video to appreciate this carving in all its' glory!

WHY YOU WOULD WEAR A TOKI....

The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.

The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.

We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
