MOHAKA
We've named these beautiful little toki "Mohaka" after a North Island river which has its headwaters in our Kaimanawa Ranges - remote, mysterious and very beautiful.
We made these pieces with children in mind (but anyone can wear them) - something to wear that is handmade, tactile and very special. The word Mohaka translates as "place for dancing" which is the spirit young people should carry into their lives.
NOTE: THE PHOTOS SHOW A SAMPLE RANGE OF THE PIECES WE HAVE AVAILABLE - THEY ARE ALL CARVED FROM THE SAME JADE AND ARE ALL OF A SIMILAR SIZE.
We have a number of these, each is unique - please use the drop-down menu to select your cord colour and we will send you your beautiful little MOHAKA Toki.
HERE'S A TIP: wear the pendant yourself fo a week or so before giving it to your child. You can tell them that a part of your spirit is now in the pendant and that you will be with them wherever they are. This is great for children who are facing a situation - starting a new school, or moving to a new neighbourhood for example. It can help give them a little support and confidence when they're facing a new challenge.
